Too much life to throw away.
Timeworn purses and story keepsakes
An old purse can be empty and still feel full of something. The shape of a hand. A small habit. The suggestion of a life that went on long before we arrived.

Purses with their wear left visible
The purses at InkSmudge are timeworn, and may be broken or damaged. They are offered as described keepsakes, rather than promised as everyday accessories. Please read each piece’s photographs and condition notes: age and damage are part of what you are choosing.
A little place for paper
A purse listing may include a small notebook made to fit, papers and other little things to keep together. The individual listing tells you exactly what comes with that piece. Each purse is a single physical object; once claimed, it is no longer available to buy.
Where the imagined life begins
The stories that sit beside these objects are imagined. I separate those lives from the things we can actually know about a piece. If you enjoy old paper as much as old objects, you can also make your own keepsake papers in the attic workshop.
